Founded in 1990 by the visionary Pastor Thiyagarajah John Loganathan, the Kingdom of God Ministries (KGM) embarked on its mission to enrich lives through religious activities. However, it soon became clear that spiritual guidance alone would not suffice to address the multifaceted needs of impoverished communities. Thus, in 1994, KGM broadened its scope to encompass social services, aiming to uplift the underprivileged and provide them with essential resources for a better life.

Establishing Village Life Centers

Recognizing the pressing needs of poor villages, KGM took a significant step by establishing Village Life Centers. These centers emerged as sanctuaries of hope, offering a wide range of free services such as access to clean water, nutritious food, child education, vocational training, and career guidance. By addressing these fundamental needs, KGM has been able to create a solid foundation for the socio-economic development of these communities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Impact of the 2004 Tsunami

The devastating tsunami of December 26, 2004, wreaked havoc on the region, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The aftermath saw a dramatic increase in the needs of the affected communities, including the urgent requirement for housing, sanitation facilities, and clean water sources. In response to this crisis, KGM ramped up its efforts to provide immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation.

In January 2005, KGM established a comprehensive facility on a 10-acre land, equipped with medium-scale infrastructure to cater to the pressing needs of the community. This initiative marked a pivotal moment in KGM’s mission, showcasing its commitment to rebuilding lives and restoring hope amidst adversity.

Future Plans: Technical and Vocational Park (TVP)

In its quest to continue empowering communities, KGM is now poised to expand its services by establishing a state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Park (TVP). This ambitious project aims to equip job seekers with the skills and knowledge required for both local and international employment opportunities. With training programs spanning over 30 fields, including language development, the TVP is set to become a cornerstone of career advancement and personal growth for countless individuals.

Long-term Sustainability: Agro Farming

To ensure the sustainability of its initiatives, KGM is planning to launch an agro-farming project, which is expected to generate 25% of the financial support needed to maintain and expand its services. This innovative approach not only provides financial stability but also fosters self-sufficiency and economic growth within the community, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future.
